For an afternoon of exploring, the pretty market town of Bakewell on the River Wye is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Matlock has a large variety of shops, a launderette, cafes, restaurants, pubs, indoor swimming pool, weekly market and parks. Matlock Bath is a well known resort on the river with fish and chip shops, cable cars and numerous entertainments.
