The open plan living area is spacious, light and airy, with impressive mullioned windows to two sides, a modern well-equipped kitchen and views across the town to the old church. A delightful main bedroom with high ceiling and full-length mullioned window makes this ideal for a romantic break. On the edge of the Peak District National Park and just a short drive from Bakewell and the picturesque village of Ashover (Cardale in TV's Peak Practice), the apartment makes an ideal base from which to explore the region's attractions, including the majestic Chatsworth House and Carsington Water and sailing club. A holiday home of real quality and style!
The popular Peak District towns of Matlock and Matlock Bath have long been attracting visitors to the area. Since the Spa was developed in the late 17th Century, these pretty towns have been fashionable holiday spots and it isn't hard to see why. Offering a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, the Matlocks are set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent and are home to the renowned attractions of Riber Castle, Gullivers Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. The Heights of Abraham cable cars provide breathtaking views down the gorge whilst the park itself offers a wealth of activities for the whole family such as the nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. With so many walks and cycle trails through the spectacular scenery, The Matlocks make a wonderful holiday destination.

I had a couple of issues when I couldnât park my car because it was full. But no real drama.

Unfortunately, it is now showing signs of neglect, needing a major refurbishment programme and new furniture. Also,3 things have always been a problem, i.e. the fridge door won't shut properly, the shower is feeble, and the lighting in the lounge is inadequate. A new problem is the freezer - it is so badly in need of defrosting that one of the drawers is frozen shut, and another drawer will be in the same state soon. We still love the location and the view of the church, but probably won't come here again.
