About this property

Wayside Cottage has been created from a mellow stone barn on a small arable farm on the edge of Matlock Moor, close to Matlock golf course and just a short drive to the country town of Matlock. It provides really comfortable holiday accommodation with its lounge and dining area gathered around the glowing stove, quality fitted and well equipped kitchen and attractive bedrooms with crisp linen and fluffy towels. Just a super little holiday retreat!

Matlock is just as good. Bet you enjoy Hall Leys Park and the Arc leisure centre. All the individual shops are great. Stop at 'Peli Deli' for a lunchtime sandwich. An evening meal in Stone's bistro is not to be missed. Try a fantastic takeaway from Thailand No1. A last glass in the garden under a star-studded sky is a super way to end the day.

But don't have one too many because you will have lots to explore tomorrow. Matlock Bath with its little Switzerland gorge and cable cars is almost unbelievable. Chatsworth House with its gardens and adventure playground is incredible. The views from Froggatt Edge send a shiver down my spine. Lilly our granddaughter loves feeding the ducks in Bakewell. Jade her sister thinks Peak Rail's steam trains are great. All of us enjoy the wild water sports at Carsington. And of course there is Alton Towers!   

Cottage facilities:

A comfortable lounge and dining area with sofa and chairs, pine dining suite, T.V., DVD, Freeview, WiFi and glowing log effect gas stove. A well fitted kitchen with small breakfast bar, cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and automatic washer. A lovely double bedroom with vanity unit and TV. An equally attractive twin bedroom with vanity unit. A shower room. A separate W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, fuel and power are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is a small rear garden with furniture. Ample parking is available. A small pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult. Bookings are from Friday to Friday.

Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas and New Year.
