Bailey's Barn is a beautifully converted, cosy cottage ideal for couples and dog owners seeking a peaceful rural retreat. Guests consistently praise its high standard of cleanliness, well-equipped facilities, and thoughtful touches throughout. The property is especially dog-friendly, with secure outdoor spaces and walking routes nearby. Owners are welcoming and helpful, ensuring a comfortable stay. While the location offers stunning countryside views and tranquillity, it is situated atop steep roads and amenities are not within easy walking distance, which may be challenging for those with mobility issues. Overall, guests thoroughly enjoy their stays and often hope to return.
Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as spotlessly clean, tidy, and well maintained. No negative comments regarding cleanliness were noted.
The rural, peaceful location with beautiful countryside and excellent walking opportunities is highly praised. However, some guests note the steep, narrow roads and distance from local amenities, which may be less suitable for those with limited mobility.
Guests find the cottage cosy, comfortable, and well organised, with a superking bed and log burner adding to the comfort. The compact size is well managed, though a few mention it may feel small with larger dogs or for those needing more space.
Facilities are described as excellent, with everything needed for a relaxing stay provided. The cottage is well equipped, with thoughtful design, secure gardens, parking, and useful information for guests.
Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome packs, treats for dogs, and helpful hosts. While these gestures are appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Really perfect place for two (and two small dogs). Everything has been thought of and this made it such an ‘easy’ place to stay. Clear book of info and instructions, really well stocked in general with thoughtful touches, decorated beautifully and in a lovely spot at the top of the village with your own courtyard garden outside the door. Designated parking space and a separate rear garden across the driveway. It was just perfect - literally couldn’t fault a thing!

A lovely place to spend a week or longer if you want a break from hectic family life, or a base to explore the area. The Barn was a lovely home from home with just about everything you could possible need for a week's stay or even longer and when we arrived milk, tea, coffee and sugar were already there for our use, plus some home made flap jacks which were yummy. If you needed to ask questions, or help with anything, the hosts were brilliant (Lynn especially), even to the point that they thought of things that might be useful before you actually realised they would be needed. We enjoyed our stay so much that, age and health permitting, we hope to return next year. Sue and Phil Hill

Bailey's Barn is a well thought out, compact cottage with a very comfy bed, good shower and almost everything two people could need for an enjoyable stay. An added bonus are two lovely outdoor seating areas which catch the sun at different times of day and are secure for dogs. It's a great location for walking, has it's own parking space, the owners were very welcoming and helpful with walking routes. A nice little welcome pack for us and treats for Charlie dog too.Thank you for a lovely stay, we hope to return soon.
