Guests say
The Old Cobblers Cottage in Bakewell is highly praised for its charming, cosy atmosphere and superb central location, making it ideal for exploring the town and surrounding countryside. Guests consistently mention the cottage’s cleanliness, comfortable bed, and well-equipped kitchen. The owner is described as friendly and helpful. While the cottage is small and the TV is noted as being quite small, most guests found it well-suited for a relaxing break. Parking can be challenging at times, and a few minor maintenance issues were mentioned, but overall, guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay and would recommend the property.
Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with many guests describing the cottage as spotlessly clean and well-presented. Only a couple of reviews mention minor issues such as cobwebs, but these are exceptions rather than the norm.
The location receives near-universal praise for being central, quiet, and convenient for shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The only minor drawback is occasional difficulty with parking, but this does not detract significantly from the overall positive impression.
Guests find the cottage cosy and the bed very comfortable. The property is warm even in colder months. Some mention the small size of the cottage and bathroom, which may be less ideal for taller guests, but overall comfort is rated highly.
The cottage is well-equipped with kitchen appliances and utensils, and the shower is generally praised. However, several guests note the TV is very small, and there are occasional comments about the oven, hob, and fridge needing attention. The log burner is not always available for use.
There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches such as complimentary treats or toiletries, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

A lovely property. Parking was a nightmare even with a permit. Initially had to park 5 mins walk away but was then able to park in one of the permit spots. We couldn’t risk any trips out in the car as we knew wouldn’t be able to park up again.TV was too small.Shower room was very small - very little room for manoeuvre. Bedroom could do with a please mind your head above door - my husband who is 6ft 2ins banged his head several times.Lighting outside property would be beneficial when it is dark.Despite the above comments we enjoyed our stay in the cottage and Bakewell

Great location but parking is a bit hit and miss, but overall really enjoyed our holiday. Took the open top bus from Bakewell to Castleton which was a great day out.
