The kitchen/diner allows you to share the chef role and toast to a wonderful holiday as you eat dinner round the table, there is also a handy dishwasher so you can settle straight into the sitting room, get the woodburning stove on and let the roaring fire heat up the room as you enjoy some evening television. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and one with a twin which can be pushed together to make a king-size bed to allow flexible sleeping arrangements with plenty of storage space for your belongings. There is also an external shed at the rear of the property which is great to house cycling equipment, cycles, muddy boots etc. Surrounded by stunning countryside, the Historic village of Youlgreave winds its way along a narrow limestone shelf, situated between two of the area's loveliest valleys - Lathkill Dale to the north and Bradford Dale to the south, this charming village now plays home to three pubs, all serving home cooked food, two shops (one with a Post Office) and a delightful medieval church. The attractive market town of Bakewell is nearby and offers a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a weekly local market. With the whole of the Peak District National Park on the doorstep, there are many stately homes to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey, all offering a great day out, or travel slightly further afield to Alton Towers, Britain's premier theme park. The kitchen was very well equipped and the settee and bed both luxurious and comfortable The bathroom was challenging to use given the low ceiling and especially the shower which is not user friendly to anyone 5 ‘10 or over ( this is in the cottage details and description) We loved our stay but bending down to get through some doors and to shower every morning would put us off this cottage in future - perfect for a couple who are shorter in stature than we are

Good location for keen walkers. House in November was warm and comfortable. Well-equipped and comfortable bed. Parking right outside house.

We stayed as a family of 4 - two adults and two older teens. The kitchen was really well equipped with lots of extras already there (washing up liquid, tea, milk etc). Extremely clean and good quality fittings and furnishings. We enjoyed a meal in The George one night which was reasonable and lovely and just a short walk away. Parking available outside the cottage every day. Highly recommended.
