Climb a few exterior steps into this single-storey cottage and find yourself in the open-plan living area. Fire up the crackling wood burner, flick on the TV, and get cosy on the comfortable sofas. A selection of books and games are also available to enjoy. Cook up a storm in the kitchen area, which has everything you need for memorable holiday meals. Climb into the four-poster bed in the pleasant double bedroom which has fantastic views out to the surrounding hills. The second bedroom has twin beds that can be made into a super-king-size bed on request. Adjacent to the bedrooms is a stylish family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The garden here is truly superb, with a vast lawn that enjoys a lot of sunshine, a water feature, is perfect for resting your tired walking muscles. Parking for one car is available at the front of the property.

If you fancy eating out or enjoying an evening tipple, there is a pub right next door and a restaurant just 1.5 miles away. The Peak District has an abundance of walking routes suitable for all abilities. Climb the heights of Birchen Edge or Gardom’s Edge (0.5 miles). Visit the popular Chatsworth House and Gardens (5 miles) and the pretty town of Bakewell (6 miles).

- 2 bedrooms: 1 twin zip-and-link bed (can be made into a super-king-size bed if requested at the time of booking) and 1 double bed

- Although all on one level when inside the cottage, access is via a set of steps with a wrought iron hand rail on the approach to the cottage
