About this property

Alley's is a fantastic find! It's a very stylish cottage by the side of the sparkling brook in the sleepy hamlet of Atlow. Gaze at the views down the valley from the cottage's lounge as the sun comes up. Have breakfast on the patio and share your toast with the wild birds. Try to spot the Heron as it glides over the water or play Pooh Sticks from the little bridge. Have your last drink on the patio and just listen to the silence.

This tranquil little valley is a perfect base for numerous walks through beautiful countryside. Wander across the fields to the Red Lion pub in Hognaston or step out just a little further to discover Carsington Water with its visitor centre and water sports. If you hire a bike it's then just a short pedal to the hidden gem of a historic market town that is Wirksworth with the famous Le Mistral restaurant.

A visit to nearby Ashbourne with its Georgian terraces, wealth of food, antique and fashion shops is another must. Bakewell, Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are not much further away. Of all Derbyshire's other attractions how about the National Tramway Museum, Peak Rail's steam trains, Castleton's Blue John caverns or even nearby Alton Towers?

Cottage facilities:

A sunlit upstairs lounge with comfortable settee and easy chairs, flat screen T.V., DVD, WiFi, enclosed solid fuel stove and views down the valley. An adjoining well equipped dining kitchen with quality units, hob, oven, microwave,dishwasher and fridge. Accessed from outside is a boot room with a freezer, automatic washer and drying facilities. A large ground floor double bedroom with picture window views across the garden. The second cosy twin bedroom is also on the ground floor. An adjacent attractive bathroom with bath, separate shower and W.C. 

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, fuel and power are included. There is a patio and garden with furniture. A cot and high chair can be requested. Ample parking is available. Pets and smoking are not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.

Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas and New Year. 

Nearest pub  -  Hognaston  1 mile.  Nearest village shop  Hulland Ward 1 1/2 miles filling station and store -  Wirksworth  5 miles.  Nearest supermarkets  -  Ashbourne  4 miles.
