Lace Cottage in Ashbourne offers a cosy and private stay with well-equipped rooms, easy-to-use appliances, and a beautiful south-facing garden. While some guests noted disturbances from nearby construction and a kebab shop, the overall experience is praised for cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches like toys for children.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as very clean and spotless, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The location is central and convenient, but currently affected by town centre refurbishments and noise from a nearby kebab shop, which has impacted the tranquillity for some guests.
The cottage is frequently described as cosy and comfortable, with comfy beds and a warm atmosphere. However, some guests mentioned light disturbances from curtains and security lights.
Facilities are well-received with easy parking, heated bathroom flooring, and a well-equipped kitchen. Ongoing roadworks are a temporary inconvenience but do not directly relate to the property's facilities.
While guests appreciated the toys and other amenities, there is no mention of gifts, and therefore it is not possible to assess thoughtfulness in terms of gifts. It should be noted that gifts are not guaranteed.

Lace cottage was a great find. It had all the things you could need for a stay away from home. Our kids particularly appreciated the toys available, something different to play with from what they have at home. Literally a great place to stay!!

A cosy private cottage with good sized rooms and everything you need provided. Equipment and appliances are easy to use as is the heating system. Bedrooms are fitted with blackout blinds and thick curtains. The en suite bathroom had heated flooring which was lovely. The south facing garden is beautiful. Our dog enjoyed lying in the sun by the patio doors. Off lead walking for your dog is available at Fishpond Meadows and is a good area to meet other dogs. A big plus for Ashbourne. Roadworks were going on but these were not a problem while we were there and are due to be completed by 14th November 2025.The town is looking very good with the improvements.
