About this property

Located in the Peak District National Park, the beautiful Hay Barn offers the perfect holiday escape for groups of up to eight guests. Dating back to the 17th century, charm and character are in abundance, with chic modern twists in every room offering you a little taste of luxury during your stay! The barn is located in tranquil and scenic rural location, with acres of fields and woodlands surrounding it, far from the hustle and bustle of city life. Secluded, your only neighbours are sheep, wild birds, and rescued hens, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere, for you to focus on what is truly important, your friends and family.

The interior of the barn boasts a welcoming and spacious Scandi-inspired design. The white walls contrast beautifully with the exposed wooden beams of the barn. There is a well-equipped kitchen and social dining area, located in the majestic double-height main barn. The cosy living area opens out from this space, featuring two luxurious velvet sofas and a log-burning stove, creating the perfect environment to unwind with a book or enjoy a movie night.

The four double bedrooms are furnished with the highest quality bedding, including feather and goose down pillows and duvets, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Two of the rooms have super-king-sized beds that can be separated into two large singles according to your preference. The remaining two rooms both boast king-size beds, one with an en-suite bathroom and the second with space for a cot or spare bed should you have any little ones travelling with you!

With three luxurious bathrooms, you can rest assured that you won’t have to wait around for a hot shower after a long day exploring the hilltops of the Peaks! The family bathroom also boasts a beautiful free-standing bathtub and a separate shower area.

Offering half an acre of private gardens, which are secured for dogs, The Hay Barn is perfect for dog owners. The gardens are complete with a barbecue, secure storage for bikes, a luxurious wood-fired sauna, and a handy dog grooming cabin, making it easy to care for your furry friend after muddy walks without worrying about messes inside the house.

With stunning walks on your doorstep, and beautiful, welcoming interiors, this stunning barn conversion offers everything you could need to rest and restore, an enchanting escape from day to day life!

This elegant, 17th century barn conversion is located far from the sounds of passing cars and the hustle and bustle of city life. There are several stunning walks from the doorstep, with one favourite being the circular route via Wincle and the Ship Inn, leading to the nearby Roaches Ridge.

Leek, a nearby town, is only a fifteen-minute drive away, offering a wide selection of supermarkets and award-winning restaurants, takeaways, and deliveries, perfect for when you need some extra amenities.

The landscape of the Peak District can be easily characterised by rolling hills, rocky outcrops, deep valleys, and heather moorlands. The highest point in the Peak District is Kinder Scout, which stands at 636 meters above sea level, and is well worth the climb for the stunning views at the top!

The Peaks offer a rich and diverse wildlife, including many rare and endangered species. As well as the sheep, wild birds, and rescued hens that hover nearby the barn, you might get the chance to spot a range of animals, including red deer, mountain hares, and peregrine falcons.

Outdoor activities are one of the big draws of visiting this vibrant part of this country. With hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and caving, there is plenty to keep you busy throughout your stay. The area is also home to several long-distance footpaths, such as the Pennine Way and the Derwent Valley Heritage Way, as well as many cycling routes, including the Tissington Trail and the Monsal Trail, which are popular with cyclists of all levels.

Whilst the great outdoors is sure to feed your adventurous souls, there are also several picturesque towns and villages scattered throughout the Peak District, each with their own unique charm and character. Some of the most popular towns to visit include Bakewell, Buxton, and Castleton.

6 of us stayed at the beautiful barn over New Year. Their attention to detail and desire to give everyone the best stay possible is amazing. Beautiful 1000 thread count bedding, down duvets, bathrooms stocked with lovely eco toiletries, kitchen incredibly well equipped, large comfy sofas and beds, wood burner stocked with logs, plus everything you could want when you take a dog on holiday - dog bowls, beds, special shower. And a big bowl of home grown eggs, a loaf of homemade bread, some bottles of beer made at the local brewery - all very much appreciated as was the bottle of bubbles to toast in New Year. My husband and kids loved the sauna. The barn is in a fantastic location, a short drive to civilisation and restaurants etc but very peaceful and quiet. it is surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and endless incredible walks. Thanks so much.

We had a wonderful stay. The barn has been fantastically converted and is in a beautiful setting. Our group including our dog also appreciated the little extras - big dog bed, welcome pack (especially the sample ales from the nearby Wincle Brewery), local guides. I am happy to recommend.
