About this property

The epitome of a countryside holiday home, Homildon Cottage is located on the edge of the National Park and is walking distance to the village of Wooler. Features log burner, AGA, country kitchen and garden. Sleeps 8.

Homildon Cottage is beautiful, a traditional and much loved holiday home on the fringe of the National Park with direct access onto a bridleway and St Cuthbert’s Way. This child and dog friendly property is very well equipped with four bedrooms accommodating eight guests. Interiors are beautiful -  the kitchen has an Aga, there’s a vintage wood burning stove in the sitting room and the sunny conservatory /dining room is perfect for chatting with a glass of wine over dinner. Step outside and lose yourself in the delightful garden - a lovely spot for breakfast with views to Homildon Hill.

The cottage is in a secluded spot, but not isolated, the village amenities are a short walk away in Wooler. A bridleway leads from the door into the National Park and the famous St Cuthbert's Way.

This is a designated Dark Sky Park where the only night light is from the moon and stars. Wildlife is excellent too, look out for wild goats, deer, peregrine, red grouse, ring ouzel, buzzards, ravens, kestrels and red squirrel. Fishing, golfing, riding available nearby. Amazing as always. I definitely recommend the cottage to people with dogs who want to get away from it all and have some quality time together.

Homildon Cottage is situated in a peaceful and quiet part of Wooler with walks straight from the front door. It is very well equipped.

We had a lovely ,relaxing stay at the cottage and loved the quiet location, being on it’s own at the end of the lane with fantastic walks from the door. The cottage was the best equipped cottage we have stayed in and we very much enjoyed cooking on the Aga in the cosy kitchen. The kitchen was extremely well equipped for the keen cook and it was great to have access to items from the well stocked larder. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and also the welcome pack for our dog. Thank you for a great stay we all really enjoyed the cottage and exploring this beautiful area . We hope to visit again soon. Very positive experience. See above comments. If staying at the property the local amenities of Wooler are very good and within easy walking distance. Good large co-op. Holiday cottage provided good local information for walks and day’s out which we used. It was a very good base to explore North Northumberland.
