About this property

Embleton 3 miles. Nestled into the coast of Craster, near Embleton, Northumberland, and with stunning views of the coast, Coble Cottage is a fantastic 200-year-old fisherman’s cottage offering easy access to local attractions and is ideal for a family or group of adults. Park off-road and be welcomed by this beautiful stone-front semi-detached cottage, where climbing roses weave their way around the door and windows in elegant splashes of colour. Upon entry, you will find yourself in a living room with wooden flooring, roof beams and seas of natural light flooding in through the large windows. There is a dining table with a view across the garden. The kitchen is spacious, with another table ideal for breakfast, and sports contemporary white furniture which emphasises the beautiful bare stone wall and range oven, an ideal spot for all guests to cook up a storm together. On the ground floor there is a shower room, and a second shower room on the first floor, meaning there will be no queues as you shake the sand from your hair. Four bedrooms await your relaxation, each with their own character and charm, including a king-size zip-link which can be set up as a twin on request, two more king-size beds and a bunk room ideal for children. When it comes to enjoying the sunshine with a cup of tea and a good book, you are spoilt for choice, with the option of a pretty front garden with a view across the local harbour and a rear patio with furniture. Craster is a lovely seaside village with a stunning harbour for you to enjoy, as well as easy access to the Northumberland Coastal Path, a pretty walk through local scenery, and there is also easy access to Dunstanburgh Heughs Nature Reserve and Dunstanburgh Castle, which can be seen from the town. Craster has a selection of cafes, pubs and a local fishmonger with essentials, however, if you head over to the next village of Embleton you will find more pubs, a convenience store and a sandy beach for you to enjoy. From here you can visit the historic towns of Bamburgh and Alnwick, both with fantastic castles and eateries. Indulge in coastal views with a stay at the beautiful Coble Cottage.

A picturesque village that seems to tumble into the sea, Craster was an important fishing harbour in the 17th century and is still famous for its oak cured kippers which have graced the best breakfast tables for more than 150 years. The village offers a pub serving food, a fish restaurant and Robson's famous fish shop. There is also an excellent children's playground. Nearby are some of Northumberland's finest sandy beaches. Just south of Craster is Howick Hall, which was built in 1782 and has associations with the Grey family, including Earl Grey the great social reformer and tea enthusiast. The gardens at Howick Hall are open to the public during the spring and summer and are especially worth a visit during the rhododendron season. A walk along the coastal footpath to the north of Craster brings you to the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland.

The quality of the towels and bedding was absolutely excellent, something I love in a property but rarely see. Well Done to the owners. The information pack was jam-packed with detailed information. Everything in the cottage was of high quality and worked perfectly. It was immaculate. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in the cottage again and have already recommended it to friends and family.
