Here you can spend your evenings unwinding beside the multi-fuel stove after enjoying a sumptuous feast prepared in the country-style kitchen. Climb to the first floor where you will be greeted by two well-presented bedrooms; a king-size and double, serviced by a gleaming bathroom with bath and shower over. Spend some time relaxing in the tranquillity of the terraced garden or make your way up the concrete staircase and explore the enchanting woodland, taking you on trail to Davenport 18-hole golf course. Poynton itself a small town but offers a number of amenities including three supermarkets, one of which is a Waitrose, bars, pubs, restaurants and a choice of quirky independent shops. When ready to get out and about in the local area, try the Anson Engine Museum, take a walk to Lyme Hall which is a National Trust Property with a deer park, or take a short drive to Macclesfield where the Treacle Market is on the last Sunday of the month, you can also visit Tegg’s Nose Country Park or White Nancy. From the cottage, you can join the Macclesfield Canal which is part of the Cheshire Ring where there are a number of walks and day boat hire available. Further outdoor exploration can be enjoyed throughout the Peak District National Park, which is less than 20 minutes’ drive from the cottage, or there is a train service that goes through the Peak District from Poynton to Buxton. For a change of pace, head into the cities of Manchester or Stockport, which can be reached by train, and discover a whole host of activities to get involved with, including various theatres, shops, concerts, or sports events at Old Trafford or Lancashire Cricket Club. This thriving little town is positioned in Cheshire on the border on the Peak District National Park. Hosting a number of shops, bars, pubs and restauranst, the town has become popular with visitors, as well as being ideally placed between the Macclesfield, Alderley Edge and Stockport. Cyclists and walkers can discover the Middlewood Way, a 16km traffic free route that runs through picturesque countryside, whilst canal enthusiasts will delight in exploring the Macclesfield Canal which runs through the heart of Poynton.
