Guests say

Childe Of Hale Cottage receives high praise for its historical charm, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful touches like homemade cake and fresh eggs. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, secure garden for pets, and friendly hosts. The location is ideal for local exploration and the property is dog-friendly. Some guests mention poor WiFi and aircraft noise, but these are minor compared to the overall positive experience.

Guests consistently report the cottage as clean and well-maintained, with one mentioning it was 'cleaniness 100%'. No negative comments about cleanliness suggest a high standard is being met.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to Liverpool, Chester, and various attractions. The village's friendliness and amenities are also appreciated. Some mention of aircraft noise, but it doesn't detract significantly from the positive location reviews.

The cottage is described as cosy, snug, and homely, with a secure garden for pets. Comfortable beds and a warm environment contribute to the high comfort ratings from guests.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a fully equipped kitchen and extras like games and DVDs. However, the WiFi connection is noted as poor to non-existent, which impacts the score for this category.

Many reviews mention the hosts' thoughtfulness, including welcome gifts like homemade cake and fresh eggs. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it's noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed.

The cottage is in a beautiful village onthe south side of Liverpool. Bus will take you into Liverpool city centre or do park and ride from station a few miles away.Walking distance to the river and lighthouse. The cottage was snug on the cold days we were there. A short walk to resturants and pubs. Even on a cold November night we just stayed in and cooked. Kitchen full of equipment and cupbpard of things you might need.Would love to return in summer and chat as everyone in village is friendy and welcoming.......espeially the owners

Wow - what a perfect holiday cottage!Spent 7 nights here and it was just fantastic. The owners went out of their way to make it home from home. Anything you need stocked in the cottage itself - kitchen equipment, pantry with essentials, toiletries, games and kids toys. Fresh eggs and homemade lemon drizzle cake on arrival. They even brought their ponies round one morning which the kids loved! Great location for days out - Chester Zoo, Aquarium, Cheshire Oaks, Otterspool Adventure Park and New Mersey shopping park to name a few. Plus a friendly local pub just down the road which does delicious food at reasonable prices. Highly recommend this cottage and we will definitely be returning!
