Drive up the winding, private road and leave your vehicle before you step out to soak in the quaint surroundings and admire the stone-fronted cottage with sun flowers perched outside. Climb up a few steps to reach the home, discover the open-plan living space, elegantly furnished with light grey décor and thoughtfully laid-out for a spacious feel. Prepare mouth-watering dishes in the ample-equipped kitchen area, boasting an electric oven to cook up a storm and a dishwasher to keep the area tidy. When dinner is served, settle down at the wooden dining table to dig into a heart-warming meal, break open a bottle of champagne and toast to a fabulous getaway. Unwind in the sitting area, with the choice between a sumptuous couch and tartan armchair; flick on the TV to catch up on your favourite series. Enjoy a refreshing glass of wine in the communal garden to meet others alike, take a leisurely seat and absorb the tranquillity of the scene. As the evening draws to a close, head inside and retreat upstairs to drift off in a double bed or snuggle up in the single; both rooms are dressed in light décor with a splash of ochre for a relaxing ambiance. Put together a picnic to take advantage of the nearby picnic sites Bull Beck and Crook O Lune, where you can stroll along the River Lune in these beautiful spots. For a dramatic landscape, visit the village of Caton in the Lower Lune Valley, attracting various birds and wildlife for those who enjoy nature watching and long walks. Travel a little further afield to the city of Lancaster, for a host of attractions including the 12th century, Lancaster Castle, used as a prison in the past, as well as Lancaster City Museum for an insight into Victorian life and several War exhibitions. Lancaster offers a wide range of independent shops, as well as popular retailers and delicious eateries to experiment whilst touring this stunning city. A pretty village of Brookhouse is settled in Lancashire within the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Brookhouse is steeped in history with its Roman heritage an ancient oak tree, believed to be used by monks to hang fish. The area is fantastic for walking and cycling along the River Lune, as well as a superb pub, a Chinese takeaway and a convenience store. The bustling city of Lancaster is just a short drive away and definitely worth visiting.
