Guests say

Egremont Cottage in Carnforth offers a homely and comfortable stay, with guests praising its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and convenient location near a pub. The well-equipped kitchen and spacious bedrooms enhance the home-from-home experience, despite the absence of a garden. While one review cited maintenance issues, others enjoyed their stay, suggesting variability in experiences.

The cottage is described as clean and comfortable by a guest, indicating a high level of cleanliness. No other reviews contradict this, suggesting that the property is generally well-maintained in this regard.

The location is appreciated for its proximity to attractions and the convenience of having a pub across the road. It's also mentioned as a quiet spot in South Lakeland with good access to the North Lakes, Lancaster, and Morecambe.

Guests have found the cottage to be very homely and comfortable, with one even expressing disappointment at not experiencing the 'worst stay ever' as they had a pleasant time instead.

While the kitchen is noted to be well-equipped, there are mixed comments about the facilities and maintenance due to a complaint about the boiler not working. As there is not enough information to accurately assess the overall state of facilities and maintenance, the score is set to null.

There is no mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews. Therefore, while the property seems to cater well to guests' needs, there is insufficient information to score thoughtfulness, and it is set to null.

Lovely well kept cottage in a lovely quaint village. Opposite a nice friendly pub (literallly 20yrds opposite) and in a great location to explore the lake district and beyond. Cottage exceeded our expectations. Car parking is great but could be clearer in where to park (we had a friendly neighbour point us to where to park) . Sofas are bit worn . Comfy beds, lovely shower (there are 2 showers in the property) and all the utensils provided (plus a dolce gusto coffee machine) Highly recommend

It’s a village I lived in for a few years, so was nice to revisit knowing the area very well, see the changes and developments. The cottage is well equipped over 3 floors with 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Kitchen has everything you should need to make your stay feel like home from home. The only downside to the property that there is no garden or outdoor space other than a parking space however, the village is friendly and there are some nice walks on your doorstep. The only thing I would suggest to the owner would be to have a mirror in the bedrooms next to a plug socket so guests can do their hair. Thank you for a relaxing break, just what we needed.

Other feedback suggested that this would be a less than an enjoyable stay and in some ways I was very much looking forward to experiencing 'the worst stay ever' as described by others. We came away being very disappointed. Far from this being the dreadful experience expected we really enjoyed the week at the cottage. Very homely, very comfortable, great facilities, spot on location with a pub literally across the road, we could quite happily have stayed much longer! Many thanks for allowing us to share your cottage.
