Milnthorpe 0.7 miles. The Spinney is a charming, stone-built cottage nestled into the countryside outskirts of the town of Milnthorpe, with countryside views, nearby walks and access to both the coast and Lake District National Park making it an ideal base for friends and families seeking to explore Cumbria. Be welcomed into a homely abode, discovering a kitchen with a good selection of amenities for home cooking, and a dining room/snug area where hearty meals can be enjoyed. This is also a great space to curl up with a book, enjoying the countryside views from the French windows. The property sports a sitting room with the added ambiance of a woodburning stove, so why not enjoy a tipple as you warm your feet beside the fire? When sleep calls, freshen up in the shower room before settling down into one of the three plush bedrooms, choosing between a king-size, a twin, and a single.
Outside, the rear enclosed garden offers stunning views across the fields and towards the Lake District, making this a beautiful spot for alfresco dining. When you are ready to explore, discover walks from your doorstep, or head into Milnthorpe where there are plenty of shops, pubs, and eateries. The coast is close by, with birdwatching and scenic walks available at Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape, or beach days spent at Morcambe. Kendal offers more eateries and quaint shops, whilst the Lake District National Park is threaded with walks including those at the Old Man of Coniston and Skafel Pike, as well as pretty villages, and ample opportunities for watersports activities and cycling.
Make a memorable retreat to Cumbria with a stay at The Spinney.
Milnthorpe, once an important medieval market town, is located in the South Lakes between Kendal and Carnforth, just a few miles from the seaside village of Arnside. Reminders of the town's history can still be found today amongst the narrow lanes and historic buildings, which speak of a time when a coach and four was more common than a four-wheel drive. Set in lovely rolling countryside, the area has much to offer, with the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis offering a tropical hall and butterfly house. Dallam Tower and Levens Hall (historic and beautiful stately homes with their deer parks, topiary and ornamental gardens) provide a great day out for visitors. Leighton Moss rspb reserve, Leighton Hall, Sizergh Castle, the Great Lakes Aquarium, Windermere and Grizedale Forest are also all within easy reach and well worth a visit. From stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks to beaches and scenic coastal paths, there really is something for everyone.
