Other attractions within the town include Cartmel Priory, the Cartmel Drinkshop and Wine Snug, and the Cartmel Raceourse where the annual races take place May-August. Further afield, you can enjoy the stunning surroundings of the Lake District National Park, with a plethora of watersports available on the famous Lake Windermere, a 2nd-century Roman Fort and Stock Ghyll Force in Ambleside, and the former home of William Wordsworth in Grasmere. All this and more awaits at 28 Coniston.

Flookburgh, a historic village near Morecambe Bay on the borders of the gorgeous Lake District, is an excellent home base from which to explore the surrounding area. Flookburgh was originally a major stop for travellers crossing the sands from Lancaster, and it now provides a home for cockle and shrimp fishers. The local Fluke fish are named after the village. There are two restaurants, a grocery store, a pharmacy, a post office, and two bars in the village. The Cumbrian Coastal Way runs close by, and just a short distance from the settlement you may enjoy beautiful scenery like Humphrey Head, vistas of the bay and its wading bird population, and the mountains of Coniston. Cartmel, with its stunning Priory, popular racing course, antique and gift stores, pubs, and restaurants (including the Michelin-starred L'Enclume), is just a few minutes away by car or a lovely off-road stroll. Holker Hall, with its stunning grounds and mansion, is located just over a mile away. To the north, at Bigland, horseback riding is available, and to the south, at Edwardian resort Grange, you'll find a variety of hotels, restaurants, shops, a traffic-free promenade, ornamental gardens, and golf courses.

Was a pleasant stay, slight confusion over bedding as stated none provided - but actually was just duvet cover/pillow cases needed Good campsite with lots to do, extra payment needed to Haven to use those facilities though

Main bedroom great size and additional toilet a bonus. Small bedrooms very small, beds 2ft not 2ft 6 as advertised good for smaller children and standard in most caravans if this size No Wi-fi in accommodation which is common on the site which meant the Smart TV only worked on digital channels. wi if in complex and free. Having said all of this lovely caravan on a busy dog friendly site really enjoyable peaceful relaxing week looking forward to going back in August. If using this van note it says take own bedding and towels which is fine but also be sure you include other basics ie toilet rolls.
