About this property

Situated in Meadows Retreat Lodge Park in Moota, on the outskirts of Cockermouth, lies this wonderful 3-bedroom holiday home, Livingstones Lodge. Offering panoramic countryside views, and well-positioned for hiking trails and a range of amenities, this wonderful property makes the perfect base for exploring Cumbria and the Lake District. Inside, you will find a rustic style living space with high ceilings, exposed beams and brickwork, providing everything you need for a family-friendly stay, a fully-fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, a dining area which seats up to 6, and a spacious sitting area with Smart TV. Inside the holiday cottage, you will also find two well-presented double bedrooms, one with en-suite and shower, ample storage, one twin bedroom, and one family bathroom. Outside, there is decking with furniture, surrounded by impressive meadow views, perfect for those warmer months. Situated a short drive from the bustling market town of Cockermouth, this holiday cottage is well-positioned for a range of tourist attractions and amenities, such as Cockermouth Castle, Kirkgate Exhibition Centre, and Wordsworth House and Garden. The area is home to a plethora of recommended shops, pubs, and eateries, including Portofino’s Bistro, Blocks Steakhouse, and Aspava Restaurant. Maryport is just a short drive away, where you can explore tropical aquatic creatures at Lake District Coast Aquarium, take a trip back in time at the award-winning Senhouse Roman Museum, and enjoy a family day out at West Coast Indoor Karting. Travelling towards Keswick, you’ll find the historic Castlerigg Stone Circle, Derwent Water Marina, and Keswick Alhambra Cinema. Set inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lake District National Park, famous for its breathtaking scenery, moody landscapes, magnificent waterfalls, rugged fells, and ribbon lakes, and is home to a range of walking trails, zipline and aerial adventure parks, and fascinating historical sites, including castles and gardens. Enjoy all of this and more by booking Livingstone's Lodge.

The small country market town of Cockermouth is situated in the quiet north-western part of the Lake District, a largely undiscovered and unspoilt area, yet only 13 miles from Keswick. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
