About this property

Guillemot is a welcoming mobility friendly caravan on a coastal retreat set in the charming village of St Bees, perfectly placed close to the shoreline and the famous beach. Thoughtfully designed for ease, comfort and mobility accessibility, this pet-friendly caravan makes a wonderful choice for friends or family looking to enjoy sea air, scenic walks and time together by the coast. Enter into your new holiday home to find the open-plan living space bringing together a lounge, kitchen and dining area where days can begin slowly and evenings can be shared over a home-cooked meal. The kitchen is well equipped for everyday cooking with lowered work surfaces, sink and hob, an eye-level oven with space for a wheelchair while the seating area offers a pleasant spot to settle in with a drink after a day outdoors.

The caravan features a twin (not a zip/link) bedroom, a twin room, and a mobility-friendly shower room, with an accessible shower room with seat and weighted shower curtain creating a practical and well-balanced layout for guests. WiFi is provided, and family-friendly extras such as a highchair and travel cot are available for added peace of mind. Step outside onto the decked area, where seating invites you to linger and take in the sea views, whether that’s with a morning coffee or as the sun dips towards the horizon. Parking is available close by, making arrival and day trips straightforward. St Bees itself is a joy to explore, known for its long sandy beach, striking clifftop scenery and the historic St Bees Priory.

The surrounding coastline is ideal for gentle strolls or more adventurous hikes, with dramatic views and abundant wildlife along the way. Nearby Whitehaven offers a lively harbour, fascinating maritime history at The Beacon Museum and the much-loved Rum Story attraction. For those keen to venture further, the Lake District National Park opens up a world of unforgettable landscapes, from mountain walks and peaceful lakes to bustling market towns such as Keswick. Guillemot offers a relaxed and well-located base for enjoying the best of Cumbria’s coast and countryside, blending easy living with memorable surroundings.

St. Bees is an historic seaside village on the west coast of Cumbria with a Norman priory and Elizabethan public school, as well as a shop, post office and old traditional pubs. It's an ideal base for exploring the western Lake District and Cumbrian coast, and is the start of the famous Wainwright coast to coast walk. St. Bees Head is the only major sea cliff between Wales and Scotland and is the only Heritage coastline in Cumbria. There is a fine beach and many wonderful walks are available along the clifftops, which are also home to one of England’s most important seabird colonies. There is also a nine-hole golf course in the village. Nearby Whitehaven, an elegant Georgian port, and the spectacular western Lakes, are more than worthy of a visit. Muncaster Castle is 8 miles away, as is the Eskdale and Ravenglass miniature railway. Cockermouth, the birth place of Wordsworth, and Keswick on Derwentwater are also within easy driving distance.
