Guests say

The Beach House at Whinthwaite is a spacious, well-equipped property ideal for large family gatherings and groups, with beautiful sea views and direct access to the beach. Guests praise its excellent location, ample communal areas, and family-friendly features such as a games room and large garden. The house is generally clean and comfortable, with many enjoying the homely touches and local amenities nearby. Some guests noted that the property can be chilly in colder months and that certain maintenance issues occasionally arise, but overall, the house provides a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Most guests found the house clean and well-presented, with only a few minor issues such as dog mess in the garden and frosty freezers mentioned. The majority of reviews highlight a good standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

The location is highly praised, with direct access to the beach, beautiful views, and proximity to local amenities such as a pub, chip shop, and ice cream parlour. Guests found it ideal for exploring the Western Lake District.

Guests appreciated the spaciousness and comfortable bedrooms, especially for large groups. However, several reviews mention the house can be cold in winter, particularly on the ground floor and in the conservatory, which affected comfort for some.

The property offers excellent facilities for large groups, including a games room, hot tub, pool table, and well-equipped kitchen. Some maintenance issues were noted, such as shower pressure, broken windows, and occasional problems with the hot tub, but these did not significantly detract from most stays.

Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as a welcome pack, warm throws, and thick socks, though these are not guaranteed for every stay. Communication with the owner was frequently described as helpful and responsive.

We were a party of 14 and each and every one of us had an amazing time. The dogs enjoyed a walk on the beach each morning and we spent many an hour in the sun on the beach as a family.
