Armathwaite Manor is situated next to River Eden with beautiful country walks both up and down the river and many other walks just a short distance away. Manor suite is well equipped but both bed and sofa were very soft. Electric car charging points are few and far between - need to head into town for any availability. Local countryside is peppered with micro villages where street lighting is largely still to be introduced. Each village has a pub decorated with taxidermied animals, scenes of fox hunting and deal animal paintings. Posting Pot cafe in Wetherby is well worth a visit. We only travelled 90 miles from home but managed to go back 50 years in time.

We had a lovely week at the manor suite. The property is extremely well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay.The hot tub was perfect after a day exploring the local area. The village store is fantastic with fresh fish, meat, veg and much more. It is also licensed to sell alcohol. Only one of the two pubs was open during our visit but we had a couple of dinners there. Nothing to write home about but reasonable pub grub. Our 2 dogs loved the enclosed paddock which was secure so they could have a good free run. Most places to visit are a drive away, though we did take advantage of the train station and ventured further afield. Really recommend this property
