The Solway Coast which is only 4 miles away has a lovely beach with long walks with paths along the coast great for dog walkers then relax and grab an ice cream or head too the local pub for a meal in allonby or visit silloth and Mayport two off the harbour towns on the solway coast with coffee shops, cafés, pubs takeaways and supermarkets or venture into the north lakes keswick only 14 miles away which has lots outdoor stuff to do with two lakes bassethwaite and derwent water in the area great for water activities paddle boarding ,swimming ,canoeing this property is next door too other cottages great for big family/friends get togethers. These include Halls Bank Farm ref 1319 sleeps 8 , Berwyn Bank ref 15825 sleeps 12 , Beckside (ref 17926) sleeps 2 all on the same site . The market town of Cockermouth is 6 miles, Keswick 14 miles and Buttermere 12 miles. Bassenthwaite Lake, 6 miles. Private fishing on the River Ellen for salmon and trout, 1 mile (free of charge). Golf and horse riding nearby. Beach 4 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile.

Lovely cottage, well equipped, very comfortable with superb views over the fields towards the Solway Firth. We took full advantage of the dedicated swimming pool time, which was unbelievable, it felt very decadent to have the pool to just the two of us!

Lovely stay, loved the hour to ourselves in the pool and sauna. Lovely and clean with everything you need. Very quiet and secluded ideal if you are looking for a quiet break. Hot tub was lovely and well used by us on our stay! We will be back !
