In the Millom Museum, visitors may get a sense of the town's history, thanks to a recreation of a drift mine. Additionally, a statue honouring the town's iron heritage depicts 'The Scutcher,' the man credited with stopping the iron ore tubs with nothing but an iron bar and his own power.
