About the Ambrose Hotel

A welcoming hotel ideal for business or leisure, the Ambrose Hotel in Barrow in Furness is only 5 minutes from BAE systems and a great base for exploring the South Lakes and the Lakeland Peninsula.  Breakfast is included in booking and evening meals are served from Monday to Thursday until 8pm.  Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel and our other services include 24 hour front desk and 5 TV screens downstairs with Sky TV and BT Sports available in the bar areas.

The Lake District is only a 45 minute drive away and the South Lakes Wild Animal Park is only 10 minutes from the hotel.  Attractions within easy reach include Furness Abbey, the Dock Museum and Piel Island.

Directions

Exit the M6 at junction 26.  At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A590 signed for Kendal and Barrow.  Branch left signed for Barrow and Milnthorpe.  At the Brettargh Holt roundabout take the first exit onto the A590 signed for Barrow.

Carry on following signs for Barrow and at the Meathop roundabout take the second exit onto the A590 signed for Newby Bridge and Barrow.  At the roundabout take the second exit onto Canal Street - signed the A590.

Go through Ulverston and at the roundabout take the second exit onto the A590 signed Barrow.  At the next roundabout take the second exit, and at the next take the second exit onto Park Road - the A590 also signed for Barrow. 

Carry on along Park road.  Enter Barrow in Furness and take a left turn onto Duke Street when you reach the first set of lights.  You will see the Ambrose Hotel on Duke Street.
