About this property

Maryport 0.9 mile. This mid-terrace cottage is situated less than one mile from the centre of Maryport, on the west coast of Cumbria. This lovely holiday home provides comfortable holiday accommodation over three floors and is ideal for a large family or group of friends wanting to spend time together, in a less crowded part of Cumbria. There is a cosy sitting room with comfortable sofas and a gas fire, ideal for those chilly nights. The light and modern kitchen features a central dining table, perfect for sitting around whilst keeping the chef company as delicious home-cooked meals are prepared. There are three bedrooms, including a family room sleeping three on the second floor. Outside, there is an enclosed rear courtyard whilst at the front there is a small patio with views across the town towards the Solway coast, a perfect place to watch the sunset at the end of the day. The ancient market town of Maryport has lots of local shops and pubs to enjoy. Here you will also find the Lake District Coast Aquarium, the Maritime Museum and the Senhouse Roman Museum. As you walk around the harbour, enjoying the sea air, why not treat yourself to some delicious fish and chips?

Excellent golf courses can be found at nearby Cockermouth and Silloth, and the stunning Solway Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a haven for wildlife, especially wading birds. Less than a thirty minute drive away is the Lake District town of Keswick, which sits on the shores of Derwentwater and is surrounded by stunning mountains in every direction. Whatever the weather, a visit here is a lovely day out with tempting coffee shops, cafes and a street market to enjoy. This spacious and comfortable cottage is an ideal base at any time of the year.

The town of Maryport offers a deep water harbour and modern marina, shopping centre, weekly market, beautiful Georgian houses, an aquarium, and two museums. The area is an excellent place walking and cycling, plus the town of Cockermouth, and the Lake District National Park are close by.

This is an old Victorian terraced housed so plenty of space, large bedrooms etc, beds ok, decor is quite dated, miss matched furniture in every room, very secure back yard for dogs, wouldn’t go a miss from having a really good deep clean everywhere, especially the front room carpets, location is ok if you drive, the fridge wasn’t switched on when we arrived and there was no cleaning products at all, not even a cloth to wipe down, we had a good week as had sun shine so could go siteseeing, a good base to use, but not really a holiday house you can walk from on an evening to local restaurants etc,

Fridge freezing all of my food I left a note. Also on arrival bins in yard over-flowing! Property could do with some decoration and diy, but overall a lovely stay and clean.

Beds were extremely comfortable, the house has everything for a nice relaxing break. Owners extremely helpful sorted issue with shower immediately. Lovely pizza takeaway just down the road with nice helpful staff. Top bedroom has a lovely distant view of the sea from roof window. Managed parking for both cars all four nights. Nice base to explore Kesick and Windermere from. We had a great time :-)
