About this property

Nestled in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, Quaker Cottage is a fabulous four bedroomed property on the outskirts of Wilmslow, a bustling market town. Quaker Cottage features state-of-the-art appliances and stylish living spaces, offering the ideal base for a family or group of eight. Purported to have been built in 1634, this fully renovated cottage combines modern living with historic character. Formerly three cottages for the workers at Quarry Bank Mill, then a Quaker Meeting House, this cottage is now a well-appointed home which is tucked away from the town, but within easy reach of local amenities and attractions and only a short drive into the city of Manchester. The cottage boasts a range of features including ample off-road parking and an EV charging point. A large well-appointed and equipped contemporary kitchen provides space for cooking and dining and you can choose to relax in either the large characterful lounge with original ceiling beams or in the cosy snug. The large Master bedroom has stunning countryside views, a dressing room and ensuite with a luxury bath. The three other bedrooms are also well presented and appointed with excellent storage. You can enjoy the benefit of a private outdoor space with dining table, outdoor sofas, pizza oven, BBQ and a fire pit. Enjoy an evening outdoors with the Kef outdoor speakers, an infrared heater and the festoon lights! Wilmslow town centre has an excellent range of shops and restaurants, as do the neighbouring villages of Alderley Edge, Hale and Knutsford, all of which are a short drive away. Quaker Cottage is neighbour to the National Trust heritage site of Quarry Bank Mill via a short walk down the lane from the property. Also within walking distance are Styal Woods, The Carrs Park or the nature preserve in Lindow Common. Next door to the property is an excellent pub and restaurant and The Cheshire Smoke House, ideal for foodies, is just down the road. The city of Manchester and its array of attractions are accessible by car, including the firm favourites of The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, Salford Museum and Art Gallery, and Manchester Art Gallery, offering something for everyone. Venturing south, you can visit Peak District National Park, where you can scramble across Kinder Downfall, climb the steep terrain of Winnats Pass, and tour the spectacular Lyme Country Park. Quaker Cottage is an ideal location for a quiet country getaway, with the added advantage of a range of attractions right on the doorstep.

The popular market town Wilmslow is located in Cheshire between Alderley Edge and Cheadle and is only a short drive from Manchester International Airport. Visitors may enjoy the best of both worlds as they are surrounded by large towns like Manchester and natural areas like the Peak District National Park. The town itself is studded with restaurants, shops, and gardens, but the most popular outdoor attractions are Quarry Bank, Linney's Bridge, and Bollin River. Head to Manchester for city life and a variety of indoor activities at places like the Manchester Art Gallery and Science and Industry Museum, while travelling south will bring you to the national park's border and its extensive network of nature trails and reserves.
