Snaptrip says

Bishop Cottage in Saltburn-by-the-Sea is highly praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and well-maintained condition. Guests appreciate the property's peaceful location, ideal for beach walks and dog-friendly holidays. The on-site restaurant is commended for good food and service. Some minor issues with facilities and comfort are noted, but overall, guests are eager to return and recommend the cottage.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning its spotless condition. One isolated incident of a strong bleach smell indicates a minor deduction, but overall, the property is consistently praised for its cleanliness.

The location is generally well-regarded, especially for its proximity to the beach and suitability for dog walking. Some guests mention the need to drive to access more activities, but the peacefulness and local walks are appreciated.

Comfort is rated positively, with the cottage described as cosy and warm. However, there are a few remarks about an uncomfortable sofa and a mattress that could be replaced, which slightly lowers the score.

Facilities are mostly adequate, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and enclosed garden. Some guests note discrepancies with the listing and minor maintenance issues like wobbly dining table legs, leading to a slightly lower score.

Guests frequently mention welcome gifts such as wine, chocolates, and other provisions, reflecting the owners' thoughtfulness. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

A lovely single-storey terraced cottage in Skinningrove. Cosy, comfortable accommodation, a great base for touring. Note: This property is next to Ref. 2835 and Ref. 3719 and together they can accommodate 11.

The former fishing village of Skinningrove sits on the Cleveland Way, and visitors will find an assortment of engaging cottages and houses plus a variety of shops within its boundaries. It has a sandy beach ideal for children and families, and the area is excellent for fossil hunting amongst the rocks on the foreshore. Skinningrove was also part of the Ironstone mining industry and there is a museum in the area that charts its industrial history. Saltburn is six miles away and has kept much of its Victorian heritage, including the oldest water balanced cliff tramway in Britain, well worth a visit. Skinningrove is an ideal place base to discover the wonderful moorland scenery and the many coastal towns and villages in the area, making it a great holiday base.

But several things listed were not provided. BBQ. Radio/ CD player. A sharp knife /bread knife is needed. I would recommend others to bring the following: Washer no powder/tabs. DVD player no DVDs No salt/Pepper. The grass was long and needed cutting. The picnic bench was in poor order needs painting
