We were a party of two visit g for 4 nights in November 2021 We generally did like this rental. There were lots of positives. That said It was well priced and would possibly consider visiting again. Generous parking on drive adjacent to front door Very generous hall, entrance area which was great for all bags shoes and coats. Large kitchen with good size table and chairs. Downstairs area very spacious. Large living room with two sofas and a second table. Well stocked kitchen cupboard for pans and backing / cooking dishes. Including useful knife sharpener. Generous size fridge. Appreciated and nice to see a new full cooking oil. Drawer of foil cooking parchment and cling film Cupboard had good selection of glasses including Pint glasses, which we often find rentals do not have. Also plenty of good size coffee mugs Induction hob very fast and easy to clean Found the boiling water tap very useful The bed we used was very Comfy, Rooms had very practical Plug in torches that had night movement lights Once heated house stayed warm Plenty of hot water Location really quite. Despite Railway very close a bottom of the garden, but did not find noise intrusive. House is on a country road, not set very far back, however few cars passed and didn't not disturbe. Rural location nice, but isolatedLiked that bird feeder was full and birds frequently visited. Netflix and Amazon useful addition. God size large tv. Extension leads in bedroom very useful. Didn't like that there was no outside light or no obvious switch for it/ or didn't work. Hard to see key safe without torch. Bearing in mind you cannot arrive before 5 pm and in November it is dark by then. Heating was turned down to 15, so house was very cold on arrival. Trip hazard on porch inside door frame wooden baton broken. Tumble dryer did not work, despite I noticed a review in September saying it was probably not working ( there was heat but no drum rotation. ) Disappointed aga not on in November. Down stairs bathroom is a pain in the night. Bed too big for the front room we used (as comfiest bed) so very difficult to get around the bed at night. No mirror in front bedroom for getting ready. Nice to see coffee pod machine, but No instructions, so could use it. No park no permit No bed side light on far side in front bedroom. Set of drawers harder to get too in front bedroom to access drawers due to bed position Shower curtain needs a crescent rod as curtain clings to you when using shower. Things I likedGenerous parking on drive adjacent to front door Very generous hall great for all bags shoes and coats. Despite Rail way very close a bottom of the garden, but did not find noise intrusive. Very rare did cars pass to make a noise. Rural location nice, but isolatedLiked that bird feeder was full and birds frequently visited. Netflix and Amazon useful addition, although free view was a pain to manage. Extension leads in bedroom very useful. Knife sharpener was useful Enjoyed using the wood burner in the living room. I think one initial night of fuel would have been appreciated. We did buy our own locally and used nightly, just for effect really as house was warm enough without. We were out all day enjoying the area and therefore stayed in most evening and curled up in front of the fire. For me I did not find the sofas particularly comfortable. I appreciate not everyone's need, but for me, I would have liked at least one good reading light. Didn’t like No outside light or no obvious switch for it. Particularly when arriving at the late check in time of 5pm. Trip hazard on porch door wooden button broken Tumble dryer did not work, despite I noticed a review in September saying it was probably not working ( there was heat but no drum rotation. ) thought it was poor that this probably had not been checked. Heating turned so low that the house was cold on our arriving. That wasn't appreciated at 5pm on a cold night. Very difficult to see key safe numbers must have @ torch or similar Disappointed aga not on in November. Down stairs bathroom a pain in night. Bed too big or badly positioned in front bedroom, so very difficult for person on far side to get around bed at night. Also no bedside light on farside. No mirror in front bedroom for getting ready. No instructions that I could find for coffee pod machine. No park no permit Set of drawers harder to get too in front bedroom to access drawers Shower curtain needs a crescent rod as curtain clings to you when using shower. There was no floor towel. I found the bathroom had bad condensation, which hardly cleared. If you opened the window the room got cold very quickly and took a long time to heat up. Kitchen chairs need felt on leg ends. Dreadful and noisy to move chairs, would disturbs people in bed if pulling chairs out. The fire alarm went off 3 times on our last night, waking us up on each Occassion. This couldn't have been kitchen smoke or steam. I had on the third occassion to reluctantly remove the batteries. If this was due to low batteries. This needs to be checked.

Lovely cottage. In need of more crockery and plastic for kids as I was on edge incase my toddler broke anything.

A well equipped cottage with a large kitchen and lounge diner, and lovely garden. It was pretty comfortable and very nicely furnished. Downsides: for a party of four adults the bathroom would be small and both bedrooms are on the small side too. I’d suggest a mirror and plug socket beside the chest of drawers in the front bedroom for convenience. But overall a good cottage - would recommend it and the area is great - Warkworth is a lovely village and the coastline is stunning.
