About this property

Castle View is a homely white-painted cottage settled into the historic town of Warkworth, making it ideal for families who love to explore Northumberland. Be welcomed into this lovely property, making yourself at home in a spacious sitting area where an electric fire rests in an ornamental fireplace and tasteful furniture offers you a place to recline with a coffee and plan the day ahead of you. The designated chef will be delighted by the airy kitchen, housing contemporary furniture and fantastic amenities to cater to all of your culinary needs, and there is a dining room for guests with a wonderful bookcase full of books for you to enjoy. Castle View has the option of a downstairs shower room and a bathroom on the first floor so you can freshen up before settling down for the night in one of the three bedrooms, a double, twin and single, all with a theme of lime and with plenty of storage for all of your belongings. If you love alfresco dining, then the garden will leave you spoilt for choice, with two patios, one at the top and one at the foot of the garden, with a sloping lawn between. Warkworth is simply delightful, offering a handful of local eateries, as well as a village store, so why not stock up on essentials before heading out to explore the local area or enjoy a hot meal with a glass of your favourite beverage? Within the town you will find riverside walks along the River Coquet, as well as a fantastic sandy beach where you can enjoy scenic walks and watersports, and a little further from the property you will find more countryside walks at Hauxley Nature Reserve. Warkworth is probably best known for its amazing castle, a great day out for the whole family, and for animal lovers there is the Northumberland Country Zoo within easy reach of the property. Make the ideal family holiday with a stay at Castle View.

Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.

The perfect place for when you want to recharge your batteries and relax.

We absolutely love it and can’t wait to come back again. There were four of us and our Labrador. The property is always spotlessly clean, comfortable and homely, as well as being superbly situated. We couldn’t ask for anything more, and certainly don’t have any complaints. The welcome pack is always gratefully received, thank you. Thanks again for a perfect holiday.
