Located a stone’s throw from the golden expanse of sandy beach at the north-end of Seahouses, this delightful detached bungalow has lovely open views with Bamburgh Castle as the backdrop. Newly refurbished, the accommodation is tastefully furnished and cosy. The lounge and master bedroom are at the front of the property allowing uninterrupted views across the sand dunes at St. Aidan’s. There’s a twin bedroom at the rear, modern bathroom and separate toilet. The central dining room has an open fire and leads to a well-appointed kitchen. The bungalow sits within a large enclosed garden with patio area to the rear; a great space to dine alfresco and a haven for children and dogs at play. There’s also off-road parking for two cars.
This is an ideal spot for family beach holidays or sightseeing and (dog) walking holidays. On the outskirts of the seaside village of Seahouses you have everything to hand that you could need – the beach, great views, Seahouses and the Farne Islands, and cosy accommodation.

Unfortunately we had a few issues during our 1 week stay at Ziggy's Retreat. On arriving on the Friday afternoon we found the step at the back door was at least 1 1/2 feet high which was too high for my wife to use as she is disabled. We had forgotten to bring our ramp but we did manage to access the bungalow from the front but also purchased another ramp for ease of access. We are normally very strict on checking cottages for steps but as we had booked and paid for Ziggy's lasy year (2025) this is something we omitted to do. We were in the process of unpacking when building noises came from next door and a jack hammer started in the garden, this went on all afternoon. We then found that there was no Wi-Fi and later learned that the builders had actually gone through the cable. This was not repaired until the Tuesday. Unfortunately, even though my husband was on holiday, he is still working and therfore needs Wi-Fi.When we read the bungalow details last year I think we misinterperated the distance from the bungalow into Seahouses and instead of walking we had to take the car out each time and parking in Seahouses was horrendous ,( we have previously always stayed in Seahouses itself ).The heating system at the bungalow is electric radiators and you are unable to control them at the bungalow, they are controlled by the owners remotely and were set at 18 degrees when we arrived. The bungalow felt quite cool.The bungalow itself is very good, especially the kitchen diner which appears to have undergone a refurbishment and everything, including the eqipment was spotless. The other rooms are to a very acceptable standard. I am sure Ziggy's will be great for a lot of guests, it was just not suitable for us.

Lovely spacious bungalow, perfect for the four of us and our Welsh Terrier. Well equipped and clean, with essentials like milk and soap provided on arrival, which was appreciated after a long drive. Excellent location, with the dog friendly beach at the end of road, plus a short walk into Seahouses, and also a short drive to Bamburgh. We love that we could see Bamburgh Castle from the front window, we will definitely be back.
