The daily boat trips leaving the harbour take you to the Farne Islands, which you can see from the apartment. You will see grey seal colonies, puffins in springtime, and an array of sea birds in their natural habitat. Back on land, walk the coastal path northwards to explore nearby Bamburgh Castle (3.5 miles), with its expanse of sandy beach and colourful village life where you can try the restaurants, independent shops and bars. Head to gorgeous Beadnell Bay (3 miles) to stroll, rock pool and picnic in the dunes, and try the village bistro, pub/restaurants and seaside cafe. Discover Alnwick Castle and Garden (15.5 miles) and Holy Island (19.5 miles).

Absolutely perfect Christmas break, the owner had gone to a lot of effort to decorate and leave some very thoughtful gifts including Xmas crackers. The views from every window is beautiful and so relaxing. Everything you could possibly need or want is in very short walking distance. We will definitely be back!
