Settled into the pretty coastal town of Seahouses and with easy access to local amenities, Herringbone Cottage is an ideal family getaway to Northumberland. Be welcomed into this wonderful reverse-level property and ascend the stairs to find the living space, beginning with a spacious sitting area sporting contemporary furniture and high ceilings, with sage roof beams and wooden flooring complementing a grey sofa and black woodburning stove, an ideal space to relax with a book at the end of the day, and here you will also find a dining table. A second dining table can be found in the stylish kitchen, continuing the opulent feel of the sitting room with illuminating skylights, wooden flooring, contemporary monochrome furniture and many amenities to cater to your culinary needs. When sleep calls, descend to the ground floor where there is a bathroom to soak the sand from your hair before you recline in one of the two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both with stripy blankets and tasteful décor. Seahouses is a fantastic coastal town boasting a beautiful sandy beach where you can enjoy watersports, wild swimming, walking and picnics with a view. Explore the coast further with Serenity Farne Island Boat Tours or head into town to walk beside the harbour and try out local produce at one of the many tasty eateries and independent stores on offer. A little further away you can indulge in the history of the local area at Beadnell Lime Kilns or the incredible Bamburgh Castle, or there is the option of taking a day trip to the impressive Holy Island to venture amongst the fantastic historic sites and enjoy the cafes, shops, museums and sandy beach. Make a seaside holiday to remember with a stay at Herringbone Cottage.

A bustling, pretty fishing village with an attractive harbour, situated on the beautiful Northumbrian coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Seahouses offers a variety of shops and a good selection of inns, pubs and eating places. Nearby are miles and miles of splendid sandy beaches and the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from Seahouses, is not to be missed. The cottage was much cleaner than my last stay as this was the beginning of the season. Just wanted to let you know the main bedroom quilt cover although had been cleaned - had big paw prints all over it where someone has let their dog on the bed and it’s not washed out. I didn’t want you to think it was me as I left my dog at home, and this may put people off. I’d definitely have a strict policy of no dogs on beds as I know what people are like. It’s the striped quilt cover / so you may want your cleaners to check it over before they put it back on as the muddy paws may not wash out. I will return later this year thank you ! Jo

Having stayed in many properties in and around Seahouses, this was fine for a weeks stay for 2 adulte and a small child. I note a few comments from other people who had stayed previously and the place just needs a bit of tlc otherwise generally good. Kitchen was well equipped but Oven gloves and mixing bowls would be appreciated! Door handle to bedroom is loose and we did struggle with the pillows being uncomfortable. Also a more comfy sofa would have added to the comfort of the stay hence the rating given. Overall we had a good stay but please look at the feedback as a few simple improvements would make all the difference!
