The village of Low Newton-by-the-Sea is worth taking a stroll into with a pub and a shop and miles of sandy beaches, or jump in the car for attractions a little further away including the historic town of Alnwick, the fishing villages of Craster, Beadnell and Amble and castles to check out include Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh and Warkworth. Pay a visit to Northumberland Country Zoo, take a hike along Hadrian’s Wall or take a boat from Seahouses to Farne Islands and go seal spotting, get into the swing of golf with a trip to courses at Seahouses, Alnmouth, Dunstanburgh Castle and Morpeth.
