About this property

Treat yourself to a fantastic holiday at The Hideaway. The modern holiday home built in a traditional style is the perfect place for a self-catering holiday with family, extended family and friends. It's on the edge of Netherton village close to the Northumberland National Park, a quarter of a mile from The Star Inn pub and close to Alnwick Castle, Hadrian's Wall, Alnmouth, Holy Island and the Northumberland Heritage Coast. Dogs and children are welcome. Holiday bookings are available all year round, with short breaks possible depending on availability.

The Hideaway may be brand new, but the traditional design and local stone make it look like it's always been part of the scenery at Burnfoot. Sleeping ten people in four bedrooms, the spacious holiday home is beautifully finished and furnished to ensure you, your family and your friends are wonderfully comfortable during your stay. The south-facing cottage is on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, a quarter of a mile from The Star Inn pub in Netherton and within easy reach of famous sights and attractions. You're also within driving distance of the Northumberland coast if you want a day at the seaside. The Hideaway is next door to Gardeners Cottage which sleeps up to 7, so together they can sleep up to 17 plus infants.

Netherton is between the Cheviot Hills and the River Coquet, giving you a seemingly endless choice of places to walk and cycle from the doorstep. You're just over a mile from the border of the national park and half an hour's drive from the beach at Alnmouth for sunny days swimming and sunbathing or refreshing coastal walks in winter. The cottage overlooks Wreigh Burn, where guests frequently spot egrets and deer, and occasionally otters and kingfishers.

Local Northumberland attractions to consider for your itinerary include Hadrian's Wall, Cragside and Rothbury. Holy Island, Bamburgh, Berwick, Seahouses, and the magnificent Northumberland Heritage Coast are also potential destinations for a day out. There is a wide variety of sights and attractions to suit every interest whether you dream of galloping along a deserted sandy beach or want to live like Harry Potter at Alnwick Castle. Chat to farmers and artisans at local markets, go fishing or wild swimming, ride along The Pennine Cycleway or mountain bike at Thrunton Wood. Rothbury Golf Club is five miles away, and you can also enjoy the challenge of clay pigeon shooting and the beauty of fell running. The owner of The Hideaway can help make your holiday even more special by arranging for indulgent beauty treatments in your cottage or booking a memorable experience like a flight in a vintage aircraft.

The Hideway is luxuriously comfortable without feeling overwhelming. The owners have used high-quality furnishings and subtle Farrow and Ball shades that complement the beautiful rural surroundings. Holiday bookings are available in all seasons.
