About this property

Perched in the quaint village of Swarland, Northumberland, is this charming holiday home, Vista Retreat. Set between the breathtaking locations of Northumberland National Park and the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this lodge is perfect for families, boasting a wealth of on-site amenities, including a hot tub, and good positioning to nearby attractions. Welcoming four guests and one well-behaved dog, Vista Retreat offers everything you need for a relaxing self-catered getaway. Inside, make use of the open-plan living space by cooking up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen, before savouring your meals at the dining table or maybe whilst lounging on the sofa as you enjoy a film on the stylish Smart TV. As the night descends, retreat to one of two well-presented bedrooms, where you can rest and recover after a long day full of adventure. If you fancy exploring your local surroundings, take a stroll to the closest pub for a pint, Bari Bar, or stop off at the Granby Inn in nearby Longframlington for some tasty pub fare during a trip to the National Trust landmark of Cragside, a rural mansion with stunning gardens to accompany. The market town of Alnwick is close by, where the The Alnwick Garden and Hulne park await those seeking a peaceful afternoon walk, whilst Rothbury offers visitors a chance to practice their golf swing at the Rothbury Golf Club, or perhaps soak in some history at the nearby locations of Lordenshaw Hill Fort and Thompson’s Rock. Further south, be sure to stop off at the Northumberland Zoo on your way to Morpeth, a delightful location that houses the gorgeous grounds of Carlisle Park, a worthwhile destination on your visit to the historic town. All of this and more is waiting to be enjoyed during a stay at Vista Retreat.

Between Morpeth to the south and Alnwick to the north, in rural Northumberland, sits the lovely village of Felton. The village is only 10 miles from Alnwick, which is known for its castle and famed Garden, which includes Europe's largest cascading water feature, a huge tree house, a rose garden, and an ornamental walled garden. The community has a shop with a post office, a coffee shop, a pub, and a restaurant. The castle is renowned for serving as the location of Hogwarts School in the "Harry Potter" movies. Alnwick has a good assortment of stores, bars, and restaurants, and there is a lot to see and do nearby, including miles of beaches with fine sand, numerous castles, and boat tours to the well-known Farne Islands. All in all, a fantastic setting for discovering Northumberland and its breathtaking Heritage Coastline.

So disappointed with Sykes for not communicating with the site properly or even offering any type of refund or discount on the amount we paid as we didn’t get to enjoy it. Over all caravan was nice bar the problems Sykes could have avoided, the wouldn’t take any type of responsibility for anything that happened.

Lacked a intro booklet, especially about the place and facilities on the holiday park. Cleanliness was disappointing, as noticeable cobwebs on the lights and some shelves in bedrooms has a covering of dust

It was absolutely freezing the first two nights and Syke cottages at first said they would treat it as 'urgent' and then did nothing. I had to contact them again, to which they asked if I had told the owner. I don't have the owners details so how could I have? All other correspondence hasn't been responded to. To not have a working boiler when it was so cold and not something we should be touching for safety reasons is not on. Also I asked if the curtains could be cleaned or changed as they were covered in mold which again was ignored. With no phone number to call and messages ignored I would never use this company again. I have mentioned that I don't think it is fair to pay full price but unsurprisingly that too has been ignored. Beyond disappointed.
