Guests say

Moonlight Lodge offers a peaceful and relaxing break with a well-maintained hot tub and a tranquil setting, making it ideal for unwinding. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and the quiet location, with some finding the accommodation clean and homely. While there are positive experiences, several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and kitchen equipment. The property is best suited for those seeking a simple, affordable getaway and who are prepared for a few quirks. The hot tub and friendly communication from the owner are highlights, and the site itself is praised for its calm atmosphere.

Cleanliness is mixed, with several guests reporting issues such as dirty crockery, stained bedding, and unclean bathrooms, while others found the property clean and comfortable. The hot tub is generally well maintained, but carpets and some areas could benefit from deeper cleaning.

The location is frequently praised for its peacefulness and proximity to nature, making it ideal for a relaxing break. However, the lack of nearby shops means guests should come prepared, though this is not seen as a major drawback.

Guests often mention comfortable beds and a cosy atmosphere, but some found the property cold on arrival or noted issues with heating and bedding. Overall, comfort is good but could be improved with attention to details.

Facilities are a common concern, with repeated mentions of maintenance issues such as leaking toilets, broken showers, missing kitchen items, and unstable decking. The hot tub is a standout feature, but overall upkeep and equipment need improvement.

Some guests appreciated thoughtful touches like blankets, cushions, and a bottle of wine (though not guaranteed), as well as good communication from the owner. However, these gestures are not consistent for all guests.

I booked this lodge for my mams 65th birthday and I also took my dog. We went from the Friday - Sunday morning. The lodge was located just over an hour away and extremely easy to find. Up the A1 and not far from the turn off. The directions when on the park were east to follow. However, I would suggest a sign “14 The Pines” that is clear to see, as a possible suggestion because working out Lodge numbers was slightly difficult. The inside was extremely clean and very homely. I couldn’t fault the overall quality and space. When it came to the utensils and cooking equipment, there wasn’t a frying pan? We had to cook our fried eggs for breakfast in a pan (not the end of the world but just, maybe a frying pan could be added to the cooking equipment) The hot tub was WONDERFUL !!It kept temperature and filtered itself. This is why we booked this particular place. I wanted my mam to relax. The site itself is so quiet and peaceful you can just unwind with the sounds of the wind through the trees. Utter BLISS.I walked my dog around the site, met a lady who was extremely pleasant and friendly walking hers.A slight downside, there isn’t a shop onsite/walking distance so you need to take EVERYTHING you will need. There’s a local post office that offers ESSENTIALS like bread and milk in the adjacent village. I drove less than 10 minutes away to a shop which have a slightly larger selection. That’s just something to keep in mind. Overall I would absolutely recommend this lodge. The location, cleanliness and quality for the price is Excellent !! I’ve actually already rebooked for Christmas with a friend. I plan to do a food shop in Morpeth when we arrive so we have everything we need to enjoy the break away. I’ve also recommended it to friends.

I want this review to be as honest and helpful as possible as there were both good and bad to the accommodation.First it is a caravan not a lodge as named, on arrival we found it easy and was able to gain entrance by key safe inside was clean and very nice with no major concerns. The main issues were:- internet - worked fine on day one and then nothing we tried everything to reset the dongle and messaged the owner who initially seemed helpful but then radio silence. I would come assuming there won't be any internet, past reviews mention it may need to have been paid for but this didn't seem to be an option or wasn't explained to us - lack of dvd player - as we had no internet we couldn't use our Xbox so had to go out and buy dvds the TV has no in built dvd player so bring one - bathrooms - the ensuite bath had water in the bottom and we couldn't open the tap so that made it unusable and the shower bracket in the other bathroom was broken and not attached to the wall which made it harder to use was ok for a couples break but would have been worse had we have brought the kids - limited plates cutlery would have been more of an issue if we had kids - The middle ring on the hob does not stay lit- provided towels were thrown in the bottom of the bath and shower so damp although folded so assumed clean - hot tub - Def pulls accommodation up but you have to lift the lid yourself which is fine for us but something to be aware of if you struggle with mobility etc Overall the location and the hot tub make this place 3 star without hot tub would be 2 star I don't think we would return
