Amble is known as the friendliest port and a warm welcome awaits from the locals. Plenty of little cafés and pubs are around of all types including super seafood eateries and an award winning ice cream parlour. The kiddies may like to hire a little beach hut for a nominal charge available from the harbour master, located on the Little Shore by the Pier, they are a lovely little treat for a day. The market is busy on Sundays with visitors and locals and pop by into the little shopping pods and the Lobster Fishery to see how lobsters are reared and perhaps pick up some fresh seafood.
Trips to Coquet Island are a nice treat in the summer or a walk along the coastal path to Warkworth to see the castle and riverside is a nice morning out. Nearby Alnwick is the home to the famous castle used in Harry Potter, whilst the heritage coast line, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretches from here up to Berwick-on-Tweed. Days out can be as diverse as you wish, head over to Hadrian’s Wall or onto the National Park, or perhaps a rainy day trip to the Metro Centre one of the largest in the UK. No matter your age there is plenty to see and do in this beautiful area, the county of Northumberland is truly an unspoilt county which you will be sure to want to return.

We had a lovely week at Kittiwake and would totally recommend. The town house is centrally located in Amble, only a 5 minute walk to the harbour and town. The house was a lovely size for 4 adults and could accommodate more, but for us the size was perfect. We loved the views across the fields towards the boats, the area was used frequently by dog walkers and we did too with our dog. A back gate leading out to the area would be great, as the town house next door has done, but no problem to walk round to it. The decking area was good to come back to in the afternoon and sit catching the last sun of the day. The house had everything we needed, very well supplied with enough kitchen equipment, we used the washing machine which was useful. There is parking right outside the house for a car and another space opposite so no issues trying to park. There is also a large public car park about 2 minutes away with electric charging points, if needed. We loved this area of England as there are many beautiful beaches, castles and towns to visit and would recommend Amble and Kittiwake as a good base. Thank you

Lovely house in a lovely quiet location. Views of the harbour were amazing. You have everything you need to enjoy your time away.

The house was perfect for the 8 of us. There was a bit of room beside the house where we were able to store our bikes. There was also a line to hang out clothes or room to sit and chill. The only downside has been is that the number for the contact doesn't work. I tried to text and call before we arrived and it won't work. Thankfully there was a key safe and everything worked out fine. The house is situated on a quiet square but only 2 mins walk from a Tesco and seafront. There were leisure centre passes too that gave free entry for I think 6 people to a lovely gym and pool only 15 mins walk from the house or 5 mins drive.
