AVOID - unless you want to stay in a so-called cottage that is 3 feet from a road that is in constant use offers no privacy in fact, no private space at all. Ignore the photos of the green space, this is not visible from the accommodation. The window referred to in the information about the accommodation is, in fact, the one and only entrance and exit which opens out approximately a metre from the road and car park. If you don’t want to be on show for your whole stay you will need to keep the curtains closed and lights on. The property has no mobile service and the Wi-Fi is only available once inside the place, so make sure you print out the key lock code. This property is unsuitable for dogs. There is a long list of dog rules including being kept on a lead and where they cannot go, including upstairs. However, be aware that there is no door to the stairway and thereforeThe heating is set to go off at 8pm and comes on at 5am, so be prepared to freeze by 9pm and wake in a sweat at 5.30am. Also the incredibly noisy pipes will wake the dead. The toilet only flushes properly once and then delivers an egg-cupful of water for an age afterwards. The plug in the bath is stuck solid - good luck taking a shower or bath and getting rid of the water. The list of negatives goes on and is virtually endless. I can find nothing positive to say about it, other than the surrounding area is great.

Burnfoot Cottages are a fantastic base for exploring the Northumberland countryside. The cottages are beautifully converted, mixing modern comfort with traditional character. Theyre pretty spacious, spotlesly clean, and well equipped ideal for families or couples. The location is stunning, tucked away in quiet countryside but still close to walks, cycle routes and little villages. Its good value for the quality. Perfect location for a relaxing break or an active holiday in the National Park.
