Hiding behind a row of trees is the fabulous golf course which is free to use for guests. From the lodge there is an abundance of trails to explore, taking you through the woodland and the thriving wildlife, including red squirrels, barn owls and roe deer. Alnwick can be reached in a short drive and is where you can find a wide selection of shops and restaurants, as well as the medieval Alnwick Castle, the second largest inhabited castle in England. Within reach you can also find the Country Park and glorious Alnmouth as well as two lovely nearby beaches; Druridge Bay and low Hauxley Beach, both providing quiet stretches of unspoilt coastline and safe swimming conditions.
