Cresswell Towers is a welcoming caravan set in Cresswell near Morpeth. Offering a pleasant base for families and friends looking to explore the coast of Northumberland, boasting an open-plan layout and is near the beach and local amenities. When you arrive at Cresswell Towers and park up beside the caravan, the wrap-around decking invites you to pause before stepping inside. Soft coastal air carries the scent of the nearby beach, and as you make your way to the entrance, the decking offers an easy spot to set down sandy shoes or enjoy a relaxed drink after exploring the shoreline. Once through the door, the open plan living space unfolds in front of you, creating an easy flow between the sitting, dining, and kitchen areas.
You can settle on the seating beside the gas fire, letting its warm glow enhance slow mornings or restful evenings. The kitchen sits just a few steps away, equipped so you can prepare breakfast with the gentle hum of the kettle or whip up dinner while chatting with loved ones at the dining table. Whether you are plating up fresh local fish or using the air fryer for a simple supper, it is a welcoming space made for uncomplicated holiday cooking. From here, wander through the hallway to the bedrooms, each arranged across the single-storey layout. The double bedroom offers a pleasant place to retreat at the end of the day, while the two single bedrooms are ideal for children or friends sharing the space.
A shower room features a walk-in shower, basin, and WC, giving you a refreshing start to each morning, and there is also a cloakroom with a basin and WC for convenience. When you step back outside, the wrap-around decking becomes a natural gathering point. It is perfect for sitting in the early evening light, planning the next day’s outing with the sound of the sea drifting across from the nearby coastline. The local shop is only a short stroll away, and a friendly pub sits within a pleasant walk, while the beach lies just beyond, ready for long rambles, kite flying, or paddling.
In the wider area, you can explore several appealing attractions within easy reach. The sweep of Druridge Bay offers miles of sand where children can run free, waves roll gently onto the shore, and the dunes form sheltered pockets for picnics. Woodhorn Museum brings the region’s mining heritage to life with its atmospheric engine house, ever-changing exhibitions, and a striking art collection that adds an unexpected creative depth to the visit. For a completely different pace, Morpeth’s historic centre sits nearby with its independent shops tucked along narrow streets, leafy riverside walks, and a welcoming selection of cafés where you can watch the world drift by.
Choose Cresswell Towers for simple days by the sea, easy access to both coast and countryside, and relaxed holiday living in a lovely stretch of Northumberland.
Cresswell is a Northumberland village on the North Sea coast, popular with bird watchers with Cresswell Pond being nearby and the Druridge Bay Country Park less than 3 miles away. Recently popular with archaeologists after a community dig (the Cresswell Pele Tower Project) led to the discovery of two bronze aged burial crists, neolithic flint and pre-historic and medieval pottery. The Pele Tower is currently being restored. The Drift Inn situated 500 yards to the west of Cresswell is an extremely popular cafe/diner open all year round. Cresswell is now part of the Coasts and Castles Cycle Route (NCN Route 1) which includes 85 miles of routes that follow or lie close to the magnificent Northumberland coastline. The village has an ice cream shop but this does close out of season. The nearby town of Ashington, once known as the largest mining village in the world and offers a good range of shops and has a market day on Tuesday. It also boasts two country parks, Wansbeck Riverside Country Park and the Queen Elizabeth II Country Park at Woodhorn. The lovely market town of Morpeth, just nine miles away, offers the remains of an historic castle, lovely parks, riverside walks, ancient architecture and churches and an old chantry with a bagpipe museum.
