Cupola Lodge is praised for its spaciousness, quiet surroundings, and relaxing hot tub with beautiful views. The location next to the Allen River adds to its charm. Guests appreciate the ample space and the lodge's potential for a peaceful break.
Guests have raised concerns about the cleanliness, particularly regarding the hot tub's condition, which was reported to have sand, a greenish water colour, and scum. The lodge itself was described as a bit worn and in need of a deep clean.
The lodge's location is highly regarded, being next to the Allen River and within a peaceful setting. It is also conveniently located 20 minutes from Hexham, adding to its appeal.
Overall, guests find the lodge comfortable and ideal for a getaway. However, some guests mentioned issues with water pressure and the need for a mattress replacement, which slightly detracts from the comfort score.
The lodge is equipped with basic necessities, but guests noted a lack of cooking utensils and some maintenance issues such as a broken shower door and blind. The prompt response to fix problems is a positive aspect.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Cupola Lodge is in a lovely location next to the Allen River. It is spacious and comfortable. It is a bit worn and grubby in places with curtains hanging down from the rails and cracks in woodwork (both inside and outside. There are plenty of mugs, plates, bowls, glasses and cutlery but would benefit from more cooking utensils e.g. measuring jug, small frying pan, along with provision of scouring sponge and cleaning cloth. Our main concern was the hot tub which had sand/grit in the bottom and the water colour was green with scum on the top. We had one day when there was no power to it and the site manager did respond very promptly to being called out to fix the issue. My partner was ill with and upset stomach half way through our stay and we did wonder if this could be due to the water condition in the hot tub.We also found the water flow on the shower to be really slow which was a bit frustrating.
