Welcome pack, was bottle of wine, soup, 1 medium sized baguette and 6 eggs. I had a call to say the floors had been mopped and was ready, 2.5 hours later when we arrived the floors were still wet and it was cold. With instructions everywhere saying don't mess with the heating. Had to call the owner to ask about the heating, she brought a portable heater and then took it away the next day when we said the heater was working. Heating on a timer and was always cold in the mornings. There is a log fire, but there next to nothing to light it with and again the owner had to bring some paper etc. Around 6 logs supplied and then you buy your own logs kinderin etc.The hot tub, I don’t think was emptied and cleaned from the last use and just more chorline was put in making our eyes sting and our skin rash, so wasn't in for long and only used once.

Had a fabulous week in the cabin even despite the terrible weather including Storm Chandra. A fabulous location, great walks nearby including walking distance of Hadrians Wall, away from the crowds, watching the birds including a nuthatch and even a bullfinch in the garden, and especially that wonderful hot tub. Highly recommended.
