The welcoming dining area is set up ready for guests to pull up a chair and look forward to long, lingering meals together. Talking of dining options, if the weather allows, then there is an attractive courtyard where you can enjoy time drinking and dining alfresco. When it’s time for bed, choose from two stylishly presented bedrooms, which are both extremely well-appointed and offer a suitably calming place to relax after a tiring day of exploring. Bamburgh is just a few minutes’ walk and has a good selection of shops and amenities as well as the castle. Head off from here and carry on along the Heritage Coastline where you will find miles of sandy beaches, quaint fishing villages and breath-takingly beautiful castles. Other towns worth visiting in the region include Alnwick, Seahouses (just a few miles away) and you can even head to the border and visit the ever-popular town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Activities to look forward to in the area include golf, sailing (from Seahouses to the Farne Islands), birdwatching, hiking, cycle rides and horse-riding. Beautifully presented accommodation in a superb location, The Apartment ticks all the boxes.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

We thought the tiled floors, especially in the hallway were a great idea. It made it easier when coming back from the beach or a muddy walk that we didn’t have to worry about damaging carpet or floor coverings. We had some lovely walks from Bamburgh leaving the car behind. It was great to have a designated car parking space so we didn’t have to worry about finding a space on the road. We really enjoyed our stay at The Apartment.

The tv in the lounge was not working properly & the tv in the master bedroom was not working at all. I rang the owners & they came up the following day. Maureen tried to fix the tv in the bedroom, then stating the tv had been dropped, I got the feeling she was insinuating that I had dropped the tv, I had NOT! I had my elderly dog with me, I had one sofa covered with 3 clean throws in case she jumped up on the sofa when I wasn’t there, even though all the furniture was too high for her to jump on. I was told by Maureen that I should not be leaving the dog in the apartment alone. I told her it’s impossible for me to take her everywhere with me. She told me in no uncertain circumstances that I should be locking my dog in the kitchen. I never lock my dog in any room. She was cruelly thrown from a vehicle Christmas Eve 12 years ago, malnourished, riddled with mange, completely bald on her underside & pronounced teats. It took me 12 months to correct her skin & 18 months for her to happily get into a car. I work 2 jobs, full time & part time, our holidays together are precious to me & enrich my life. My stay was ruined by her attitude towards me. Will I paying them again with my hard earned cash, NEVER.
