About this property

Settled into the bustling seaside town on Amble, Northumberland, Arcadie is ideal for a family or two couples looking to explore the local coast and countryside. Park off-road and be welcomed into this wonderful property, where a gas fire will warm your feet as you relax in a homely sitting area and plan the day ahead of you, from here you will be able to access the conservatory snug through glass doors, a great spot for morning coffee with a view across the garden, an enclosed space with shrubs and a lawn where your four-legged family member can relax. As mealtimes call, make the most of the kitchen/diner, and why not cook together and enjoy your masterpiece at the dining table? After freshening up in the bathroom, snuggle up in one of the two double bedrooms, both with plenty of storage for all of your belongings. Amble is a fantastic coastal location offering a great many activities to fill your holiday with, beginning with an array of tasty eateries within the town itself, including pubs, cafes and even and ice cream parlour! Independent shops can be browsed at your leisure before you enjoy a walk across Amble Marina and see what wildlife you can spot, or there is the option of riverside and seaside strolls. Travel a little further from the town and you will find the wonderful Warkworth Castle and the beautiful village of Alnmouth. Make a seaside holiday to remember with a stay at Arcadie.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an rspb reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.

We stayed more local this time and spent more time exploring the sand dunes and beaches around the Amble area. We also shopped for provisions more at Amble,as Arcadie is close to the high street. Saying that, you wouldn't think it was.No noise, mainly local people going by on their way to the shops. Perfect for us and our small dog.Nice location and secure garden for the dog. We'd love to visit Arcadie again. A big thank you to Emma housekeeper as well.

It is ideally positioned for access to all Amble has to offer. The property is very comfortable and extremely well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and as we visit the area regularly, we will certainly return. Thanks particularly to Emma for her very considerate call.

The inside was warm and welcoming, milk in the fridge and goodies in the bread bin were much appreciated. The cottage is in a very quiet location, and very convenient for shops and the harbour. The cottage was recommended to us by friends, and we will happily pass on the details to others.
