The property is beautifully furnished throughout with much thought, care and attention to detail. The kitchen/dining area is meticulously presented and leads through to a cosy living area where there is a sumptuous corner sofa as well as a comfortable cuddle chair. Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts), is a popular visitor attraction. The Old Forge is an excellent choice for those seeking a superbly presented base that gives easy access to explore the beautiful 20 mile stretch of Heritage coastline designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the east and the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills can be found to the west. Another great stay at the Old Forge! Would highly recommend for location, amenities & cleanliness. Lovely quiet location just of main street. Another bonus is property comes with parking permit.

The frying pan still had dried food stuck to it, which was not acceptable. The information stated when the refuse bins were to be positioned for emptying. I don’t think a guest should be responsible for the action.

Charming and well appointed cottage in a fab location…walk into the centre of Alnwick…bus stop just around the corner and big family shopping, should you need one, is at Lidl a short walk away. Parking, with a pass on the next parallel street .was easy and convenient.Unfortunately frequent showery weather prevented me from using the tiny outside courtyard. Arriving to tea and coffee was a positive after a long drive. The surrounding fields were ablaze with **** seed fields which lightened the sometimes overcast days. Heartily recommend this home as a holiday place.
