Snaptrip says

Meadow View is consistently praised for its cleanliness, prime location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the peaceful, relaxing environment. The property is dog-friendly and situated conveniently for exploring Northumberland's attractions. While mostly positive, a minor suggestion for a shower chair indicates thoughtful touches could enhance the experience for those with mobility issues.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests frequently mention the property's immaculate condition, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes to the overall positive experience.

The property's location is highly regarded for its proximity to both the coast and countryside, making it an ideal base for exploring Northumberland's sights.

Reviews highlight the comfortable beds and cosy lounge, suggesting that the property provides a comfortable stay for guests.

The property is described as well-equipped and maintained, with all necessary amenities provided. A single suggestion for additional bathroom support for guests with mobility issues slightly impacts the score.

While guests mention welcome gifts and appreciate the dog-friendly aspects, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to accurately score thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such personal touches, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

About this property

Alnwick 6 miles. Resting in the charming hamlet of South Charlton near Alnwick in Northumberland, is this delightful stone cottage, Meadow View which is the perfect holiday destination for a family or small group of friends. Inside, the property is immaculately presented, promising guests a restful stay. The sitting room is wonderfully light and airy with polished wood flooring reflecting off the soft white walls. Ample seating is arranged around an ornamental fireplace with windows boasting gorgeous country views; a spot where you can imagine gathering together to socialise, chill out or just zone out and watch TV. Step into the attractive kitchen/diner and you are greeted with another really bright space with a feature vaulted ceiling with skylights adding to the feeling of light. Here you will find a stylish fully fitted kitchen with everything the designated chef needs to create delicious food for the holiday party and the beauty of the open-plan space means that guests can pull up a chair, pour themselves a glass of their favourite tipple and keep the chef company, before sitting down and tucking into long, relaxing meals together. The solid wood flooring continues throughout the property and the three bedrooms are all well-presented, the king-size benefiting from a TV, so you can sink into the sumptuous bed and catch up on your favourite telly and there is also a double with en-suite facilities and a twin. The bathroom is spacious and contemporary so as well as having a quick dip in the shower, you can also spend time having a long soak in the bath. It is all about the outdoors on a visit to Northumberland and the outside space at Meadow View is no exception with a courtyard area and decking where guests can sit down and enjoy time alfresco while soaking up the captivating countryside views. The picturesque town of Alnwick is nearby which is dominated by its stunning castle and gardens, boasting Europe’s largest cascading water feature. The castle’s other claim to fame is that it was the setting for Hogwarts School as featured in the Harry Potter films. The town also has a good selection of shops and amenities as well as miles of beaches to explore. Nearby coastal towns worth visiting include Alnmouth, Seahouses, Warkworth and Beadnell with trips to Farne Islands popular where you can look out for unusual birds and even seals. Other attractions include Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland Country Zoo and Bailiffgate Museum and Gallery. Offering guests the best of both worlds – the tranquility of a peaceful hamlet whilst still being close to the amenities of the bustling town of Alnwick – Meadow View has it all.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.

! One of the best properties I have ever rented for a vacation, here or abroad. Location is superb for both access to Northumberland coast and likewise the inland countryside. It is true what other guests have said, this is truly a "home from home". I didn't want for anything during my week's stay in terms of comfort, facilities and the space afforded me. I like to try visiting different corners of our fabulous isle, but this experience will make me return for more heritage coast. P.S. To locate the property you need to turn right down a single track road (opposite a telegraph pole - there are more than one!) and then it's the second drive immediately on the right which takes you to a driveway gate at the rear of the house.
