This lovely cottage is full of character with many lovingly preserved original features. Take the seven stone steps down from the private parking area to reach the garden's lower level, where you can access the property. Kick off muddy boots or sandy shoes in the generous boot room and head through the brick arch into the spacious kitchen/diner. This is a room full of rustic charm with exposed wooden beams overhead, pretty country cottage tiling and a chunky farmhouse-style dining table with plenty of space to share a meal with loved ones. Alternatively, dine alfresco on the outdoor furniture in the walled patio surrounded by almost a quarter of an acre of lawned garden with views over the neighbouring fields. For a cosy evening in, there’s no place better than the delightful living room with its ample sofa seating and warming wood burner housed in an impressive inglenook fireplace. Climb the spiral staircase to a mezzanine seating area with books, games and a large Velux window from which you can gaze up at the stars. Alnmouth’s pretty village (3.5 miles) has lovely shops, cafes, pubs/restaurants, a children’s play area, a picturesque golf course, and another gorgeous beach. Visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens (4.5 miles) for a day out to remember amongst 12 acres of beautifully landscaped greenery, or head to Craster (5 miles) for some fresh seafood and a walk on the coastal path to Dunstanburgh Castle.
