About this property

Nestling in a peaceful part of the delightful village of Alnmouth in Northumberland, Riverside Lodge is a stunning coach house conversion which dates back to Edwardian times and offers impressive accommodation completed to a high standard. Ideal for a family on holiday or two couples, the open-plan living space is situated on the first-floor to maximise the coastal views from the windows. The seating area is positioned in front of feature picture windows boasting ever-changing sea views plus there is a TV if you get bored of the views outside the window! When tummies start to rumble, there is a stylish fully fitted kitchen complete with all the appliances needed to produce great food for the guests and when it’s time to serve, there is an inviting dining area made for drinking and dining together. If the sun is shining, then there is an outside courtyard area complete with a picnic bench which is the perfect spot for sitting down and enjoying time alfresco. At bedtime, choose from a ground-floor king-size or a first-floor double; both are equally tastefully presented and offer sumptuous interiors, perfect for recharging your batteries and getting some shut-eye before another active day of getting out and about exploring. The charming village of Alnmouth is on the doorstep together with miles of sandy beaches, or take a short drive to Alnwick, famous for its castle and gardens. Drive a little further to attractions such as Hadrian’s Wall, Howick Hall and Gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle and Northumberland Country Zoo. Take a boat trip over to the Farne Islands where you might catch sight of an unusual bird or seal. If you love wildlife, then you’ve come to the right place with RSPB reserves at Annstead Dunes and Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre. Activities worth having a go at while you’re here include golf at Alnmouth Golf Club, horse-riding at Slate Hall Riding Centre, surfing at Bamburgh Castle Beach and sailing at Beadnell Sailing Club. For a holiday to remember a lifetime, Riverside Lodge has it all; superb accommodation in a gorgeous coastal setting.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. The parking space was ideal and we had no issues that would involve us contacting the owners. If I had one small criticism it would be the lack of soft closers on the kitchen unit doors but that’s just the kitchen fitter in me being picky. Overall a very pleasurable stay and would recommend to friends.

We appreciated the welcoming additions of fresh flowers, biscuits and milk. The fact that the kitchen was well equipped was very helpful. The accomodation is great for exploring the area and relaxing at the end of the day.

Great location in the village and the accommodation itself was very comfortable. The owners were very nice and welcoming on arrival. I did leave a note next to the visitors book listing some kitchen items/utensils that would have been handy for the few meals we ate in etc. Overall a great find and would definitely recommend and return.
