The Sea Life Centre and boating lake in the park are also within walking distance, with Cullercoats and Whitley Bay a few minutes’ drive away. For the gourmets, the fish restaurants on North Shields’ fish quay are not to be missed, whilst historic Alnwick, the Northumberland Castle Trail and National Park make excellent days out.
